This four-part intensive focuses on you as the teacher and leader by creating a nurturing collective space in which to practice communication skills that are essential to the senior leaders of Jewish non-profits. Each session will be framed by Jewish teachings to see how critical communication is to creating an enduring and inspiring legacy of language and listening. Participants should expect to gain proficiency in the skills below through in-class work, reading and reporting in-between sessions and immersion in the material to yield the best results. Attendance at all four seminars is obligatory, and space is limited to provide an intimate and powerful setting for professional growth.
Inspired Listening: Learn and practice new listening techniques so that when you speak, people will listen. When you offer better, more focused, more empathic listening, you create a different level of professional relationships that engender trust and collaboration.
High-Impact Public Presentations: Ever wish your public speaking was a bit crisper, a bit stronger, a bit more persuasive? This workshop will provide a safe and challenging space to work on specific aspects of the public speech: attention-grabbing introductions, dynamic closures and a content-rich middle that offers inspiration and a resounding charge.
Facilitation for Success: Sometimes our most important leadership role is creating engaging spaces where others can shine and mediating differences and conflict in a group setting. Using the latest resources from the leadership writings of expert facilitators, we will study their conceptions of facilitation and use the group as a living laboratory to test drive this skill.
Communicating Your Organizational Vision and Values: Our previous sessions will help build up to this last workshop, a chance to concretize and articulate the values of your organization and its vision in a more compelling, more elevating and more clarifying way.
