Each year DFI recognizes talented individuals who are dedicated to professional careers in the Baltimore Jewish community. There is no greater honor then to be recognized by your peers for outstanding contributions to the field of Jewish communal service.
NEW THIS YEAR – The HERO Award recognizes a professional who supports their organization with Heart, Excellence, Reliability and Optimism. The winner of this award has demonstrated their commitment to go above and beyond in their work to build relationships and ensure the essential success of their organization.
The Neely Tal Snyder Community Impact Award honors the memory of Neely Tal Snyder z”l by recognizing a professional with strong commitment and passion for Jewish community. The winner of this award has helped to build immersive and hands-on experiences/programs that have community impact and demonstrates creativity, openness and inclusion.
The Daniel Thursz Distinguished Jewish Communal Service Award pays tribute to the invaluable contributions of an individual who has demonstrated outstanding professional leadership and a lifelong commitment to the field.
The Outstanding Jewish Communal Professional Award recognizes a mid-level career professional with exceptional promise and encourages commitment to a career in Jewish communal service by awarding $1,250 grant to subsidize participation in a professional development opportunity.
The purpose of the Friedman Fellowship is to build the capacity of the Baltimore Jewish community to recruit, train and retain high quality professionals who will lead and deliver services of excellence. Organizations nominate candidates who are new to the field and up to 10 fellows are selected each year to receive $5,000 towards their professional development.
